Two days Summer camp held at our parish

Belvai April 17, 2024: Two days of summer camp were held for class I to XII students of Belvai parish from April 16 to 17 at the church hall.

The camp was inaugurated digitally by unveiling a Slide by our Parish Priest Rev. Fr Joseph Alphonse Cardoza on April 16.

Rev. Fr Elias Cardoza, parishioner priest in his address highlighted the importance of the camp and urged kids to be good-hearted, and humble and wished good for the camp.

Fr. Cardoza called upon the students to make good use of the learning from the camp and participate actively. 

Parish Council VP Mrs. Lavina Cardoza, Secretary Mrs. Jacintha Rego, and 21 Commissions Coordinator Veera Pereira were present. 

Br Oswald Vaz Hirgan led the prayer and Br. Shailesh compered the program. 

Day 1 activities:

Students were divided into 4 teams and were asked to come up with a name derived from the Old Testament with a modern twist of the second name. The teams are as follows:

Astel Fighters 

Micha Kings

Daniel Challengers 

Ezekiel Royals

Sessions on Prayer by Br Oswald and Bible by Br Shailesh were held. 

Action songs, team activities like spot group dance, and games were also held.

Day 2 activities:

Session on Cyber Safety & Security by Wilson Pereira and Vocations by Sr Jacintha Lasrado

Group games & action songs, Bible Theme actions for the group, a Bible scavenger hunt, and a Bible & General quiz were organized.

Valedictory and prize distribution was held at the end of summer camp.

Parish Priest Rev. Fr Joseph Alphonse Cardoza thanked each and everyone who helped in organizing the summer camp and for making it successful. Mr & Mrs. Amit Blanch Salis sponsored the breakfast & lunch of Day 1, Mrs. Alice Rodrigues sponsored lunch for Day 2, Mr & Mrs. Wilson Prima Pereira sponsored Icecreams, and Mrs. Jenitha sponsored Chocolates on account of Master Kane's birthday.

As a token of gratitude, Fr Cardoza made the kids hand over a small gift to summer camp organizers - Br Shailesh & Br Oswald and wished them good in their future priesthood life.
