Nativity feast of Mother Mary celebrated

Belvai Sep 08, 2024: The annual Nativity Feast of the Blessed Virgin Mary, a significant feast day in the Christian calendar, was celebrated with great reverence and joy at our parish today. This celebration marked the birth of the Mother of Jesus, a day held in deep significance by Catholics worldwide, especially in the local community.

The day's events began with a special moment, the blessing of the newly harvested grains, a traditional practice representing gratitude for the year's harvest. Later Parishioners took out a procession to church as children offered flowers to Mother Mary.

A thanksgiving solemn Mass celebrated by Rev. Fr Joseph Alphonse Cardoza. Kids of Sodality of Mary did the liturgy.

The parish priest distributed the blessed Grains to the Parish Council members, who then distributed them to all the faithful present in the church.

Stree Sangatan served Payasam, a sweet, and Sugarcane was distributed to parishioners after the mass.
